Action!

Sound ready... ready... camera ready... ready.... roll sound.... speed.... roll camera.... speed.... scene two apple take 3.... dolly action.... and action.

You could hear a pin drop on the carpeted hospital floor. That's how quiet it was on the set at St. Lukes Hospital. We had 14 set ups to do and we did it all in 13 hours.

Our crew call was 1pm but a lot of us were there before 12 loading up equipment and grabbing a quick bite at the dex. We shot on 16mm film with out cp-16 camera. It's pretty old but its still rollin. Troy Waters, Scott Christianson, and myself were the electrics/grips. Alex Hackett was the key grip/gaffer. We brought a crane for our establishing shot. it's almost as heavy as our fisher dolly. it takes 4 guys to carry just the arm section.

The first person to greet us was a security guard who apparently had no idea we were supposed to be there, and he didn't want to let us in. So we had to call up some people and deal with that. Once that was all ironed out everything else went relatively smooth.

The first shot took us 2 hours to set up and it was a 5 second p.o.v. shot. That gives you an idea of what it takes to light things and get the job done right. Everything else moved a bit quicker from then on we have a solid team. We had several fisher dolly shots the crane and some standard stick (tripod) shots mcu's (medium close ups) ots (over the shoulders) etc. It was a good day.

Stay updated things are moving fast.
